OTM 2020 Mumbai. Murmansk will join India Friendly program

From 3 to 5 February 2020, Mumbai hosted the largest tourism exhibition in India - OTM 2020. Russian Information Center in India together with Alfa Izmailovo hotel, also Murmansk region, Ural airlines, Sochi Casino and the Sochi Marriott hotel took part from Russia side.

Interest in Russia was high. More than three thousand people visited the booth of the Russian Information Center, which presented India-Friendly hotels and a new B2C project www.Russinfo.in

www.Russinfo.in — this is an online resource that provides relevant information about Russia for the Indian tourist. On the site, they can learn about the country's culture, regions, attractions, routes, India-Friendly hotels, food outlets. The project actively cooperates with local residents in the regions of Russia who talk about interesting places, and experienced travelers who share tips and routes for a comfortable trip around the largest country in the world. In the near future, the project will present 20 regions. And it will continue to develop in order to increase the tourist flow from India to Russia and improve the quality of services provided to Indian tourists.

The exhibition was attended by the project's Ambassador, Russian traveler Alexander Smagin. For the past few years, Alexander has been traveling the world on a bamboo Bicycle as part of his round-the-world trip. It has already traveled more than 17,000 kilometers around the world, and several more on the territory of the exhibition with the Russian flag, attracting the attention of visitors to Russia.

Indian tour operators are interested in the direct flight from Mumbai to Moscow  by "Ural airlines" and regions that have already introduced a free electronic visa. These are Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Vladivostok. It should be noted that the free e-visa is also valid on the territory of Kazakhstan, so Indian tourists have the opportunity to make an attractive route Delhi-Almaty-St. Petersburg-Vyborg with free visas, combining two countries, Europe and Asia, in one trip.

Murmansk region was presented at a separate booth. Over the past few years, the interest in the Russian North among Indians has increased by more than 50%. Tourists are attracted by the opportunity to see the Northern lights, the Arctic coast, reindeer riding and huskies.

"Indians have their own gastronomic preferences. Until now, it was very difficult to find suitable food in Murmansk.  Sometimes it was necessary to take a cook with a group to solve this problem. At the exhibition in Mumbai, we were able to agree with Murmansk tour operators and hoteliers that several hotels will be trained and certified under the India-Friendly program. Interest in Murmansk has increased so much that we decided to organize an FAM tour in early April 2020, so that Indian tour operators can personally see the quality of the services provided, " comments Ekaterina Belyakova, managing partner of the Russian Information Center.
